Removes anything that colour-matches the photo's own edges — higher reaches further (can start eating the subject if it shares a similar colour), lower is more conservative. Use the Erase/Restore brush below to clean up whatever it misses.

Touch up by hand: Erase paints background, Restore brings the photo back. Draw right on the image.

"Filled" gives a bold silhouette but loses face/hair detail on busy photos — "Edges" traces the actual contour lines (eyes, hairline, folds) instead. "Filled + edges" (recommended for portraits) does both.

Lower catches more/finer lines (can get noisy on skin texture) — higher keeps only strong contours.

Push contrast up first if faces are reading as one flat block — it stretches skin-tone shading back out before the threshold cut.
